Ms. Newtown’s principal area of practice is real estate law. She has represented clients in such matters as commercial leasing of office and retail properties; the purchase and sale of commercial properties; the financing, design, construction, and development of retail projects; the establishment of condominium regimes; the financing, design, construction, development, and sale of high-rise condominiums; real estate secured loans; and a variety of other commercial real estate and development transactions. Additionally, Ms. Newtown has represented a non-profit corporation in connection with a public-private development of a municipal park.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Newtown practiced with Vinson & Elkins, L.L.P., and has served as in-house general counsel of a major developer of high rise office buildings, condominiums, and shopping centers and of a retail real estate investment trust.
